Welcome back to my 2010 campaign website!

Here we are in 2012, almost five years into this recession/jobless recovery and the Republicans are acting just like they did during the Great Depression. Calvin Coolidge would be proud of his “Do Nothing” Republican Party in 2012. According to them, the way to create jobs is to cut the taxes for the rich even more and give the working man or woman more incentive to work even cheaper to compete with the workers in Mexico and China, by cutting any extension in jobless benefits.

Meanwhile, the members of Congress who didn’t bat an eye at automatically raising the debt ceiling to fund the Bush tax cuts and two wars have suddenly awakened in 2012 in the midst of a double dip/second recession and declared that we can’t afford a jobs or public works bill. The Republican Party and the Tea Party clearly do not understand that you can’t cut your way to prosperity.

If we continue to follow the current path, it could be almost ten years before we get back to where we were in 2007. As I have been saying since 2009, "Welcome to the 1930s!"

We have linked to some of my speeches and articles from the 2010 primary campaign so that you can check some of my calls in 2010 against the facts in 2012.
